The 1980s

Where it all began

Brian Ferrier Pump Supplies was founded by 24 year old Brian Ferrier in an old fruit shop in Leith Walk, Edinburgh in 1981 before relocating in ’82 to a small unit in Swanfield Industrial Estate in Leith.

The company’s early years were extensively involved with pioneering design aspects of high-pressure water jetting equipment for the sub sea and marine applications which included the use of ROVs in marine growth removal and corrosion inspection.

The 1990s

Ferrier Expansion

Due to continued expansion, the Glasgow operation moved to a larger premises in Seaward Street, Kinning Park, Glasgow and a another premises was bought in Cumbernauld Road, Glasgow.

We gained large contracts with North of Scotland Water & Orkney Islands Council between 1990 and 1994 and also secured a Minor Works Contract with North, East & West of Scotland Water in 1996.

The 2000s

Entering the Millennium

Ferrier Pump Supplies changed it’s name to Ferrier Pumps Ltd.

Between 2006 and 2009 we  secured major contract wins with Scottish Water under their SR6 Investment Period.

The 2010s

Investing, Evolving & Winning

This decade saw Ferrier Pumps awarded a number of flood projects across Scotland as well as an award from Sandpiper for product growth achievements in 2014.

Between 2010 and 2016, we secured major contract wins with Scottish Water Capital Delivery Partners on SR10 Investment Period and secured 4 Scottish Water Frameworks for the SR15 Regulatory Period.

In 2019 we were awarded with the UKAS Accreditation ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.

The 2020s

A New Approach

In February 2021, the majority shareholding of Ferrier Pumps was sold to Ireland’s EPS Group where we will bring our product offering, service, repair and maintenance and project delivery experience to the expanding Group.

Ferrier Pumps was visually rebranded and we’ve been working closely with the EPS teams in Ireland and across the UK to strengthen our existing services and leverage EPS’ experience in the digital engineering, DfMA and asset management spaces as well as developing relationships with new technology providers and multiple technology and product partners.
