Developer Pumping Station

At one of our sites in Kilmarnock, we were experiencing frequent clogging issues with the Flygt submersible pumps installed within an Adoptable Waste Water Pumping Station, fitted with their Adaptive N impeller

Ragging was regularly clogging the pumps, resulting in time consuming removal and strip down. The ragging was found to be compacting behind the impeller, causing damage to the mechanical seal and pump shaft, resulting in costly repairs.

Project Specifics

Further to discussing the issues encountered with our product supply partner KSB, we investigated the possibility of replacing the existing pumps with their new Amarex KRT F-Max pump range. We then approached the developer, offering to supply and install KSB Amarex KRT F-Max twin pumps on a trial basis in order to demonstrate that these would be successful in reducing the failures previously experienced. Fitted with a vortex impeller, the KRT F-Max pump has now been installed for 8 months* with no pump failures, ultimately saving the developer on costly callout and repair bills. By eliminating these frequent emergency call-outs, it also contributes significantly to reducing our carbon footprint.
