As part of the SR15 Capital Framework for Scottish Water, we were contracted by the alliance management of Amey Binnies to undertake the Longforgan WwPS upgrade works.
There had been a number of issues over the years at Station Road Longforgan SPS resulting in flooding of the site and surrounding area. The root cause is that there was no proper storm screen installed on site and no anti ragging facility so the pumps frequently choke. There was also a requirement for some form of lifting equipment to be installed to safely remove the pumps as and when required.
Project Specifics
The objective of the project was to maintain serviceability of the pumping station during the course of the works.
This includes the provision of a storm screen, anti-ragging device on foul pumps and the installation of gantries to enable safe lifting of the foul pumps including a new MCC control panel with all associated LV cabling and field instrumentation.
All equipment was fully tested and commissioned, including telemetry testing to Scottish Water’s specification.
