Maintenance
The project enabled works to comply with current Scottish Water ‘standards and specifications’ and ensured that the serviceability of the plant was secured by replacing poorly performing assets.
Scottish Water engaged their wastewater infrastructure alliance partner, aBV, to manage the overall scheme; however, the detailed design and delivery of the scheme was carried out by aBV’s own tier 1 alliance partner, Ferrier Pumps.
The entire station at Pitscottie was demolished to wet well level, new cover slab created 1m higher to bring the hardware out of existing flood plain.
New macerators, pumps, screen, valves, iMCC, telemetry, kiosk, gate, handrails, and walkways as well as fencing.
A new access layby and road to the kiosk was built. The pumping station was kept fully operational throughout the construction period.
